Augusta Chapter Director: Jenny McManus

A little about Jenny

Jenny resides in Staunton, VA with her husband and three children, Ashton, Quinn, and Eden.  Her days are filled with homeschooling and homesteading as well as helping others find wellness through childbirth education, placenta encapsulation, and Young Living Essential Oils.

How and when Jenny got involved with Birth Matters Virginia

Jenny has been the Chapter Director in Augusta County since March 2008, when the Chapter was founded.  At that time, there were few resources in the area for educating women about evidence-based childbirth. There was such a need for women to gather to tell their stories and ask their questions in a safe space.  After visiting the Charlottesville Chapter Birth Circle, Jenny and another friend knew that Augusta County needed a similar offering.  Over the years, the chapter has continued to grow, as have the many resources for the women of Augusta County.

Jenny’s plans for the Augusta Chapter in 2015

The Augusta Chapter looks forward to continued monthly Birth Circle meetings that are open to women of all backgrounds and walks of life.  We are excited to be reaching out to women who might not otherwise attend Birth Circle by offering childcare during our meetings, thanks to the financial support of Birth Matters VA.  We will continue with our traditional Midwifery Appreciation gifts in October 2015.

Please consider volunteering for the Augusta Chapter! Birth Matters Virginia is a volunteer driven organization that relies on the support and work of many dedicated individuals. Ask Jenny how you can help!
